EU security & compliance
Secure hosts. Protected guests. Honest limits.
NextStay helps accommodation providers across EU and partner countries organise guest registration and online check-in — so self check-in happens after the formalities you configure, without scattering ID photos across personal phones.
Made in Europe. Built for European stays. We help hosts feel secure that online verification can follow local expectations before door access is released — without pretending one workflow fits every authority.
We do not claim that NextStay makes every property automatically compliant. Local rules differ by destination, property type and authority. Hosts remain responsible for confirming what applies to their accommodation.
Destination guides summarise common operational patterns — guest records, self check-in practice, registration workflows — and explain how NextStay can support the work. Each guide carries a last-reviewed date and is designed to be updated as structured content.
Data security · GDPR
Safer for hosts.
Calmer for guests.
Guests should not send ID photos over WhatsApp or personal phone cameras. Hosts should not ask staff to photograph travel documents on a private phone. That practice is risky — and sits poorly with GDPR.
NextStay keeps check-in data on the encrypted stay link between guest and host — processed for the stay, not scattered across chat threads.
- No WhatsApp ID photos
- Encrypted guest ↔ host link
- GDPR-minded stay processing
Data handling
Guest and host information is collected to operate the stay journey: check-in, ID verification, messaging, instructions and services. Data moves on the encrypted stay link between guest and host — not as photos asked over WhatsApp or stored on a personal phone camera roll.
We process data carefully under GDPR principles (purpose limitation, minimisation, security). Hosts should only collect what they need for the stay and applicable formalities. Asking housekeeping or other staff to photograph guest documents on a private device is a common risk we help you avoid. See our privacy notice for more detail.
