Country context
Reglugerð 1277/2016 requires every gististaður to keep a næturgesta skrá (name, kennitala or DOB, address, nationality; retain ≥12 months). Heimagisting is capped at 90 days or ISK 2,000,000 with a skráningarnúmer; gistináttaskattur (800 kr) applies to flokkur II–IV, not compliant heimagisting. EEA/Schengen, not EU.
Self check-in works when art. 6 guest-register fields (and ID documentation where required) are captured before access — heimagisting day/income caps are a separate prerequisite.
